About Us

A Dedication to Excellence

Hardenberg Farms is located in the beautiful Willamette Valley in Oregon

Hardenberg Farm’s goal is to produce talented Hanoverian sporthorses with the athletic ability to excel in dressage and jumping competition at the highest level, both in the USA and abroad. We focus on an adherence to the breeding philosophies and protocols used successfully for centuries by the German Hanoverian Registry or “Verband” (Verband hannoverscher Warmblutzüchter e.V.) in Verden, Germany and its breeders.

Hanoverian horses are the predominant breed used by riders from around the world at the Olympics in dressage and jumping. Hanoverians have won the prestigious “Best Overall Breed” award from the World Breeding Federation of Sporthorses (WBFSH) for the “Best Overall Breed in the World” almost every year in the last two decades. This award is based on cumulative international show results in dressage, jumping and eventing. The “proof” of our breeding program is in the continued success of our Hanoverian horses in competition, both in hand and under saddle, with amateur and professional riders.

The key to our success is the quality of our mares. Our mares are all imported German Hanoverian broodmares with world class bloodlines. All are daughters of the leading sporthorse sires in the world and are out of performance-tested Hanoverian mares.  All have records of producing correct conformation, brilliant movement and high rideability. Our foundation mares are daughters of two of Germany’s best; Donnerhall and Weltmeyer. Our mares are bred to outstanding stallions in the USA and Germany (via frozen semen) to produce outstanding offspring of international quality.

Frangelica, a Hardenberg Farm homebred, was the 2008 AHS National Champion Hanoverian Mare. She was the highest scoring mare in the USA.

Hardenberg Farms produces a select number of top class foals each year with outstanding bloodlines for discriminating breeders and riders….the “limited editions” from Hardenberg Farms. The foals we produce rival those produced at by top German breeders, but are born here in the USA and are available without the added expense of travel to Germany, broker’s commissions, currency exchange rate losses and importation risk.
