Great Mares... The Key to Success

The strength of any breeding program is dependent on the quality of its mares. Top class performance sires are only half of the equation. The importance of utilizing Hanoverian mares for breeding that come from generations of performance-tested families cannot be overstated. The heritability of these performance traits have been well documented via an indexing system developed by Dr. Ludwig Christmann, Deputy Breeding Director of German Hannoveraner Verband in Verden, Germany. This helps produce foals with the highest probability of success in sport horse competition. And Hardenberg Farms has some of the best. We are extremely proud of our imported Hanoverian foundation mares.
