Absolutely one of the most breathtaking stallions I've ever seen in Germany. De Niro is the heir apparent to Donnerhall, and his grand dam sire Akzent II. De Niro, licensed and branded Hanoverian, is an exceptional stallion of superlative type and performance.
Since reaching the auctions, De Niro's foals have fetched top prices everywhere they appear. A new record of DM 140,000 was reached for a weanling stud colt at a Klosterhof Medingen auction in 2000. His son De Facto brought 279,985 Euros at Verden in 2001. A three-year-old colt, Figaro, reached a record price of DM 151,000 at Vechta. De Niro's daughters are also excelling--he had the Vice-champion mare in Oldenburg in 2000 and the champion mare and two additional mares at the diamond ring (Diamantring). His riding horses are excellent, and he produced a federal vice-champion, a state champion and several conformation winners.
De Niro has 1,304 registered Hanoverian foals in Germany (2007), 22 approved sons (including Depardieu, Dancier, Karen Rehbein's mount Desperados and Der Lord) and 99 States Premium Mares. He has produced 120 foals sold at Verden auctions, 22 Elite Hanoverian auction horses in Verden and 72 horses sold through the regular Hanoverian riding horse auctions in Verden.
He was Reserve Champion of his 100 day stallion test as a three year old in Adelheidsdorf in 1996 with 50 stallions competing. He scored the highest of all of those stallions in dressage with an index score of 145.41. He also was 11th in the jumping competition with a score of 117.11. By age the tender age of SEVEN, De Niro was competing and winning at Grand Prix levels of dressage. De Niro's performance record in 2000 was sensational. Besides winning in Prix Sr. George and Intermediare II, he won his first Grand Prix at the first run, and was honored at the German Professional Riders Championship as the best up-and coming Grand Prix horse. In 2001 he won a number of Grand Prix' and Grand Prix Specials.
His son, Dancier ( De Niro x Lancier x Espri) was the 2004 Stallion Licensing Champion in Verden. The following year Dancier won the Buchard-Muller Prize by a margin of 20 points and scored an 8.6 earning 158.46 points for dressage! At the 2005 Bundeschampionat, De Niro offspring Daily Pleasure and Da Vinci were Champion and Reserve Champion Five Year Old Riding horses (mares and geldings). In 2007 his son, Denaro, won the Bundeschampionat qualifier at Riesenbeck scoring an overall 8.2. De Niro has proven himself through his performance in the show ring and through his offspring's exceptional achievements.
His exceptional temperment and rideability is exhibited in our stallion gallery photos of him taken by Diane Nauman at Klosterhof Medingen. His owner, Mrs. Wahler, is shown taking him out for a morning trail ride in the woods. At this time, the ICE train was going by at over 100 miles per hour at the property line of the farm and he didn't notice. He just set his head and trotted off in a snaffle into the beautiful German forest....a true pleasure for Mrs. Wahler to ride and enjoy.
